Improved models for predicting crack initiation and crack propagation in turbine components.

In this project the aim is to improve the lifetime prediction methods for engines by addressing several topics, each representing a different aspect of life limiting cyclic failure modes in different critical engine components. The emphasis of this project is on advanced tests for new model development and to provide valuable feedback and validation for lifetime prediction models under conditions closer to those experienced in the engine.
