Material validation for future industrial gas turbines

LCF and TMF Crack Growth in Cast Nickel-based Superalloys
The aim of the project is to validate materials for future industrial gas turbines with strong demands for high fuel flexibility, availability and efficiency, as well as cyclic operation. This will require materials with high corrosion resistance and good resistance to thermomechanical fatigue (TMF). The key objective of the project is therefore to improve the knowledge regarding the mechanisms that controls the crack growth rate in in new single crystal superalloys with high corrosion resistance.
