Rebecka Le Moine, biologist and master’s student in ecology, environmental management and nature conservation, has been nominated for the Environmental Hero of the Year award.
The award is a collaboration between WWF and Aftonbladet – a Swedish newspaper. Ms Le Moine has been nominated for her committment to green issues – at home in Linköping and in India, where she has worked to save tigers in a way that benefits the local population as well as conservation efforts.
Ms Le Moine is currently on a three-month visit to Cambodia. The purpose of the trip is to look into methods for reintroducing the endangered tigers of Cambodia, where the results are beneficial to both tourism and people.
