This experience gives you an opportunity to study in Sweden for one month. You will have several high-quality courses to choose from and will gain cultural insights together with other international students from all over the world. All courses are taught in English and are full-time.

In 2016, Linköping University (LiU) launched its first International Summer Academy. More than 80 percent of students who participated in the 2016 student survey stated they would recommend LiU Summer Academy to fellow students.
All courses are at Bachelor’s level and worth 7.5 ECTS.

To meet the general entry requirements, students must have completed 1 year full-time studies (passed 60 ECTS credits or equivalent) from one of Linköping University’s partner universities. (In order for the student’s application to be processed, all required documents must be submitted. The entry requirements must be fulfilled at the latest by 17 March 2017 after which no uploaded supporting documents are accepted.)
All courses are in English and partner universities can nominate students with a good command of English.
The quota of LiU Summer Academy places to semester places is 4:1.
Different for each course. Lectures, workshops, seminars, PBL, laboratory exercises and field trips. Some preparatory work is required from the students before their arrival in Linköping.
No tuition fees. Courses are only eligible for students from LiU’s partner universities.

Student accommodation package
Sek 5,000 for one month. It includes a single private student corridor room with shared kitchen, bed linen, internet, bus card, access to sports facilities and one final exit cleaning.
Application and Admission
General application information
Partner universities are welcome to nominate a maximum of 5 students per course by signing the LiU Summer Academy 2017 – certificate for each nominated student. Please click here to find the certificate. Nominated students must have a good command of English.
To meet the general entry requirements, students must have completed 1 year full-time studies (passed 60 ECTS credits or equivalent) from one of Linköping University’s partner universities.
Documenting the student’s eligibility for studies
In order for the student’s application to be processed, all required documents must be submitted. The entry requirements must be fulfilled at the latest by 17 March 2017 after which no uploaded supporting documents are accepted.
The following documents (stamped and signed) must be submitted:
- Official transcript of records showing completed courses and their grades (student copies are not accepted).
- LiU Summer Academy 2017- certificate
- To ensure that the student’s qualifications are correctly assessed please submit, an official document with information about the university’s grading scale and amount of credits per academic year.

How to apply
Students apply electronically for LiU summer Academy courses at University Admissions . They choose “log in”, create an account and search for courses at ”Linköping University” for “Summer 2017”. Then they select the courses that they want to apply for named “LiU Summer Academy: ….”
In the student’s application at University Admissions he/she will be able choose the Accommodation Package should he/she require Linköping University’s Accommodation Offer. The cost for the Accommodation Package is SEK 5,000. For more information click here.
We aim for a good mix of students. Selection is based on the principles of multicultural classroom. Please observe that we have a limited number of student places per course and that we cannot guarantee all the nominated students can be offered a place. Students from partner universities with whom we would like to improve the balance for incoming and outgoing student exchange are prioritised.

Welcome and orientation
In order to help you settle into life at LiU Summer Academy, a welcome and orientation morning will be held in the beginning of the week before the course period starts. During this orientation you will receive both practical and academic information. When arriving in Linköping, you will receive the keys to your accommodation as well as some information before you are taken to your housing.
During the official arrival day, June 30 between 13:00 and 20:00 in Linköping, we will provide a pick-up service, provided that you have informed us of your time of arrival by the date listed in your welcome-package. If you have more question about pick-up service please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

You have two options for accommodation during the Summer Academy: students can organise their own accommodation or you can accept the Accommodation Package Linköping University has organised for you.
The package is designed to help you get set up in Sweden quickly and easily so you can focus on classes and making new friends. All students who apply for Linköping University Summer Academy at University Admissions and at the same time choose the Accommodation Package are guaranteed accommodation.
It is important that students note that the accommodation is only available between 30 June (after 13:00) and the 29 July 2017 (before 12:00). If students intend to spend time in Sweden before or after these dates they need to arrange additional accommodation on their own.
Accomodation package price = 5,000 SEK
The package includes:
• Single student room with internet (not Wifi*) and utilities included (electricity, heat, water).
• New linen, towel and kitchen utensils provided in the shared kitchens.
• Access to laundry facilities.
• Unlimited bus card which will gives you access to travel around Linköping and surrounding areas.
• Campushallen Gold card (Campus Valla’s fitness centre).
• One final exit cleaning service for your room.
* If you do not have an internet cable, you can get one at the student host office in Ryd (Rydsvägen 254, level 4).
Please note you will be required to keep your room and living space clean and tidy and wash your own laundry during your stay in Sweden. If you have not booked and payed for the Accommodation Package, you will have to organise a room by yourself and you will not receive the bus card as well as the other things included in our Accommodation Package.
A corridor room is a single/private room. It is 20 square meters and includes a private bathroom. There are eight rooms in a corridor, sharing a kitchen and a living room. The room is fully furnished and the beds are 90x200 cm. In the shared kitchen you will have access to a shared fridge and freezer.
