Science and Technology Studies and Economic Sociology

In broad terms, my research interest concerns the intertwining of economic organising, science and technology. My theoretical inspiration primarily comes from social studies of science and technology (STS). My interest in economic organising, makes my orientation best being described as located at the conjunction between STS, market studies and economic sociology.

In recent years my main empirical focus has largely been on phenomena related to the health care sector such as the organising of large clinical trials and the shaping of markets within the sector.

I'm one of the founding editors of the journal Valuation Studies. I'm the chairman of the academic think tank Leading Health Care.  An academic think tank aimed to foster dialogue between conflicting interests and values about the development of healthcare organisation.
