The research illustrates the wide scope of the control field with projects ranging from theory development to industrial applications, covering both core control design and system analysis approaches as well as control-related estimation problems.
The aim of the research is to improve the accuracy of industrial robots by using Iterative Learning Control in based on estimates of signals obtained by sensor fusion.

The activities include problems in sensor fusion, system identification, robotics/autonomous systems, optimization for control applications and complex networks. They aim at a good balance between theoretical developments and industrial applications.
The department is central to the engineering education at the Institute of Technology, one of four faculties at Linköping University, and this regards both basic and applied knowledge.
