How much habitat is needed to maintain biodiversity, and where?

Presentation

We are most likely experiencing a sixth mass extinction of species. The main driver is human induced habitat loss and fragmentation. In my research, I explore different ways to avoid species loss by identifying valuable and functional areas.

My research focus is on landscapes and the consequence of change in landscape composition and configuration on the survival of a species. I use computer simulations to understand how changes in a landscape affect species chances of survival.
