My primary research interest is children’s and adults’ social interaction, verbal as well as nonverbal, in various preschool contexts.

Children’s and adults’ social interaction in various preschool contexts

I primarily base my analyses on an ethnomethodological perspective, supported by conversation and interaction analysis.

The analyses have more specifically focused on:

  • children’s language choice in a multilingual context
  • children’s interaction and participation in play and pedagogic activities
  • children’s everyday/informal learning
  • parents’ and preschool educators’ talk in the preschool’s hallway
  • children’s play language
