Agricultural developments have to meet the challenges of a changing climate, such as increasing pollution and natural resource depletion, while aiming for food security, reduced poverty and overall economic growth. My ambition is to extend my comprehension of agricultural developments through research in this area.

I have been working on quantifying nutrient balances of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) in agri-food chain at different spatial scales. This comprehensive investigation is performed at high resolution in Sweden and Pakistan. The balance of nutrients at different spatial scales (higher to lower) is estimated by combining a number of databases, mainly crops databases and field size, livestock databases for different species, and data on the human population for each of the two countries.
