Måns Magnusson, member of the SweCSS steering group and associate professor (docent) as well as assistant professor in Statistics at Uppsala University, has been awarded the Rettig Prize 2026 by the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities.

The prize recognises Måns Magnusson’s research on methods for large-scale text analysis. His work makes it possible to analyse large collections of text, such as Swedish parliamentary records, and use this material to study important questions in the humanities and social sciences.

Each year, the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities recognises distinguished researchers and teachers in the humanities and social sciences. The recipients of the 2026 prizes and medals have now been announced. In total, awards amounting to SEK 2.3 million will be presented during the Academy’s annual ceremony at the House of Nobility in Stockholm on 20 March, 2026.

Måns Magnusson is an internationally established researcher who combines methodological development with interdisciplinary collaboration. His research contributes to new ways of understanding society through the analysis of large text datasets.
