A new initiative for scientific collaboration between Italy and Sweden is about to be introduced. On March 20th, 2026, the first-ever association dedicated to Italian researchers in Sweden, SINAPSE, will officially launch at the Embassy of Italy in Stockholm.

The ambassador of Italy in Swedens welcomes participants to researcher workshop.
In 2024, the Embassy of Italy in Stockholm held a workshop, highlighting scientific collaborations between the two countries.
SINAPSE (Swedish-Italian Network for Advanced Partnership in Science and Education) aims to bring together Italian researchers, professionals, students, and members of the broader Italian community living and working across Sweden. The initiative seeks to strengthen scientific exchange, foster joint research projects, and promote educational and cultural activities that deepen ties between the two countries. Among the executive board members is IFM’s Donatella Puglisi.

Backed by the Embassy of Italy in Stockholm, the association will serve as a dynamic platform for networking, collaboration, and visibility for Italian talent in Swedish academia, industry, and innovation ecosystems.

The purpose of SINAPSE is to provide opportunities for interdisciplinary dialogue, mentorship, and community-building.

Launch Event on March 20th

The inaugural event will take place on March 20th, 2026, at the Embassy of Italy in Stockholm, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Attendance is subject to capacity limits.

Those wishing to participate are invited to register by March 2nd by writing to:
