Agtech 2030

Innovation for tomorrow's agriculture.

The Agtech 2030 initiative is about developing a world-class innovation environment in Sweden for agricultural technology. Among the focus areas are sensors and artificial intelligence. In Agtech 2030, which is coordinated by Linköping University, about 100 organizations participate. The main financier is Sweden's innovation agency, Vinnova. Other financiers are Linköping University and Region Östergötland.

Agtech 2030 started at the end of 2018 and the time frame was set at 10 years. The idea is then that the established innovation environment should continue on its own, without support from Vinnova. The planned budget for the 10 start-up years is approximately 20 million Euro, of which just over 10 million Euro is a cash contribution from mainly Vinnova, Linköping University and Region Östergötland, while the remaining parts are about resource contributions from business.

Agtech 2030 includes technology companies, agricultural companies, agricultural machinery companies, consulting companies and actors representing processing chains. It also includes institutes and the academy. The initiative as a whole has a stated cooperative vision towards companies and organizations in the outside world and welcomes new actors to join Agtech 2030.
