We are looking for a research assistant in Technology and Social Change.

The position

Your tasks will consist of participating in research projects that investigate the transition to climate-neutral cities from a social science perspective. The focus will be on areas such as energy, transport, food supply and digitalisation. Your work tasks are to conduct literature reviews, workshops, qualitative interviews with professional actors in Swedish municipalities and business, analyse the empirical material and write a report. The work will be carried out in collaboration with the researchers in the project.

The person we need

We are looking for a person who has at least a bachelor's degree, preferably a master's degree, in a field with a social science orientation. Having read a programme in the field of urban planning, environmental science, sustainability or related fields is particularly meriting. You should be able to demonstrate skills in using social science methods, mainly qualitative interviews and workshops. You should also be able to collaboratively work in interdisciplinary teams. You should have experience of working independently and in a structured way, collecting, processing and presenting material. The work can be carried out in Swedish or English, but it is an advantage to demonstrate proficiency in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

The workplace

Tema T - Technology and Social Change - is a nationally and internationally leading environment for research and education, where social science, humanities and interdisciplinary perspectives on technology, science, medicine and social change are at the center. Research and teaching focus on how people create and use technology, and how technological change is interwoven with knowledge, policy, practice and ethics. The department offers postgraduate education and as well as education at undergraduate and graduate level, focusing on issues of technology and social change. Undergraduate programs include a bachelor's and a master's program in Urban and Regional planning, as well as courses in theory of science and history of technology. Full-time, five months 

Starting date by agreement.
