Teaching assistant (amanuens) in cyber security
Back to available jobsWe are looking for up to two teaching assistants (amanuens) in cyber security at the Department of Computer and Information Science.
The position
Your tasks will consist of developing software to be used in teaching and research in cybersecurity. Linköping University is developing a new cyber security lab that includes both a computer lab room for students and a server environment that can be used to simulate different cybersecurity scenarios. Your task will be to develop new functionality for this environment and to adapt current systems to suit the needs of the organization.
The person we need
In order to be employed as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to university studies at first level or advanced level. We are looking for students who have completed at least three years of university studies with a technical focus, at least equivalent to 40 ECTS computer science courses and have a solid background in cyber security/information security.
It is advantageous to have deeper knowledge in cyber security and experience in software development and system administration. Knowledge of one of the languages/environments Python, Ansible, bash scripts, and Go is advantageous. Previous experience and interest in teaching is also positive. It is advantageous if you study at Linköping University.
The workplace
The Department of Computer and Information Science was founded in 1983 but its roots go back to the early 1970s. It is one of the largest computer science departments in northern Europe. Our research covers a broad spectrum of fields, from core to applied computer sciences. Its vast scope also benefits our undergraduate and graduate programmes, and we now teach courses in several engineering programmes at bachelor’s and master’s levels, as well as the programmes in statistics, cognitive science and innovative programming. You will work in the division for Software and Systems (SaS) in the research group RTSLAB, which conducts internationally recognized research in areas related to security and dependability of distributed systems.
The employment
Fixed-term employment, 6 months, with a percentage of 20% up to 40%, by agreement. Afterwards there will, under certain circumstances, be an opportunity for an extension period.
The start date is by agreement, preferably 27th of November, 2024
Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
