You will contribute to research aimed at understanding how communication between different organs influences cancer progression, with a particular focus on gastrointestinal tumors that frequently metastasize to the liver. The work involves handling and analyzing patient samples, as well as conducting experimental studies on cells and tissues to identify factors that promote metastasis. You will also participate in projects that explore other tumor types and their metastatic patterns, with the ultimate goal of generating insights that can improve clinical practice and enable innovative treatment options for patients with aggressive metastatic cancers.

Our research focuses on understanding inter-organ communication and its impact on cancer progression. We primarily study gastrointestinal tumors that metastasize to the liver, with a particular emphasis on the role of the immune system in pro- and anti-metastatic processes and its interplay with metabolic dysregulation. Additionally, we investigate other cancer types and their metastatic patterns to develop insights that can improve clinical practice and lead to new treatment opportunities for patients with metastatic disease.
