2019-12-12 17:00 NBIS and ELIXIR are offering an "Introduction to Linux" course targeted at life scientists who want to extend their skills and knowledge.
The course provides a basic introduction to Unix/Linux commands and covers how Unix/Linux commands can be used to manage and inspect your data and results, and how to generate and run pipelines and workflows using basic shell scripting.

Unbounded Workshop on Publishing, Property and Academic Labour

Since 2009, Culture Unbound: Journal of Current Cultural Research has been committed to publishing the best articles on critical cultural re- search. Born digital, operating under a gold OA scheme, in 2019 Cul- ture Unbound is wellestablished as a high-quality, peer-reviewed outlet for cross-diciplinary research in the humanities and social sciences. To mark the occasion of the journals first decade and its transition into the next, Culture Unbound hosts an open workshop on the theme Publish- ing, Property and Academic Labour. Exploring the infrastructural chal- lenges in the intersection of scholarly publishing, intellectual property and academic labour, the purpose of the workshop is to reflect on the current conditions of scholarly publishing and to initiate a discussion on what the future might hold for journals such as Culture Unbound.
