Entry requirements

For admission to the course, completion of year 1 and year 2 of the Bachelor's Programme in Cognitive Science, or the equivalent, is required.

Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- account for and reflect critically on central concepts, theories, models and research results in the area of cognition and disability,
- account for and reflect critically on technical and psychological possibilities to compensate for different forms of physical disabilities.
- reflect on what it means to have different physical disabilities and switch perspectives based on different disabilities.

Course content

Central concepts, theories and phenomena in the area of cognition and disability are covered. Strong emphasis is placed on laboratory parts, where technical equipment is used to simulate physical disabilities.

Teaching and working methods

The teaching takes the form of lectures, group work and laboratory sessions and independent studies.

Examination

The course is examined through written assignments (laboratory reports) and a written and oral presentation of a proposal for a project. The proposal should include the choice of subject, a question formulation and a choice of method. Group work and laboratory sessions are compulsory parts.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course twice are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.

Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.
