Health care priority setting is about how to distribute scarce health care resources. This course presents the philosophy of health care priority setting with a special focus on ethics and epistemology. The course focuses on philosophical questions raised by priority setting, such as when all individuals cannot have all treatments from which they may benefit: how should these benefits be distributed? And, how can decision-makers know that some treatments are beneficial, and some are not?
