Co-creating Digital Solutions and Automation, 7.5 credits

The course aims to introduce the students to the strategies for managing digital innovation and developing ideas into new ventures. To this end, the course covers basic concepts of digital transformation in society and organization based on technological advancements and new techniques, such as analysis of large datasets, blockchain, and artificial intelligence. Then, the course also covers digital entrepreneurship and digital business models by focusing on work with the United Nations' 17 global sustainability goals as a starting point for driving digital innovation from initial testing to implementation. 

Accordingly, the course is structured in two modules: (1) a theory module providing a basic knowledge of entrepreneurship and innovation strategies as a base for understanding the shift toward digital innovation and digital entrepreneurship; (2) a practical module where the students will have to ideate and prototype a digital solution following the steps of design thinking, defining the business model and other elements discussed in the theory module.
