Social Work in Times of Globalization and Transnational Migration, 7.5 credits

Autumn 2024, Half-time, Norrköping

The course deals with social work in times of globalization and transnational migration. During the course we critically reflect on how social work is shaped in the intersection between the global, national and local level, by using theories on welfare, migration and integration.

Further, the course sheds lights on the social situations and living conditions for individuals and groups in the context of globalization and transnational migration, with a specific focus on possibilities and challenges in social work. In addition, theories on anti-racist and transnational social work are put into practice in the investigation of social work practice.
