This course uses innovation processes as a means to drive value-creating development for a sustainable society. Students learn to identify and develop value-creating solutions to real-world challenges. These challenges are formulated in collaboration with external partners who actively contribute to positive environmental and societal change. By working in interdisciplinary teams, students collaborate with challenge providers from industry, the public sector, and civil society.
Through close engagement with industry and the opportunity to apply their academic and discipline-specific knowledge in an authentic practical context, students develop skills and competences related to:
(1) Ideas and opportunities – including creativity, idea generation, value creation, ethics, and sustainability;
(2) Resources – including self-awareness, resource mobilisation, and motivation; and
(3) Putting ideas into action – including communication, managing uncertainty and risk, planning, and leadership.
The course is part of the ECIU network (European Consortium of Innovative Universities) and is delivered primarily on-site at Campus Valla and Campus Norrköping, with certain elements conducted online.
