Global Health, 7.5 credits

Autumn 2026, One-quarter-time, Linköping

Application period 16 Mar - 15 Apr

Do you want to understand how health is affected globally – and how you can contribute to change?

The course Global Health gives you insight into the factors that shape health conditions in different countries and socioeconomic groups, as well as how we can work toward a fairer and more equitable health system worldwide. You will also learn about current global challenges such as access to healthcare, pandemics, and how refugee movements impact health.

During the course, you will work in groups, where you and your colleagues will participate in a Hackathon to develop solutions to some of the most urgent health problems in the world. Starting in 2026, students from Moi University in Kenya will also take part – a unique opportunity for international exchange of experience!

Lectures are given by Swedish and international experts, providing you with a broad and global perspective. The course is taught in English, though some moments may be in Swedish, and it is aimed at medical students with prior knowledge equivalent to semester 7.
