Lecture and exhibition on queerness, migration and the body as archive

Welcome to the lecture Cicatrizes: What the Body Remembers – A Conversation on Queerness, Migration, and the Body as Archive and Knowledge. The lecture will be followed by an opening reception for the accompanying photographic exhibition Cicatrizes – Art and Migration: A Map of Border-Crossing Life.

  • The lecture will take place from 16:15 to 17:00 in lecture hall K2 at Kåkenhus, Campus Norrköping.
  • The exhibition opening will take place from 17:00 to 18:30 in the lobby of Kåkenhus.

Aruanã Rosa
Aruanã Rosa is an interdisciplinary researcher and artist from Brazil. His work is inspired by Brazilian queer and Black social movements and theorists. During East Pride, he will present both a lecture and a photographic exhibition, drawing on his own experiences of migration and of living as a racialised and queer person.

The event is a collaboration between the Forum for Gender Studies and Equality at Linköping University and East Pride – the Pride festival in Norrköping.

The lecture will be held in English. No registration is required.

The exhibition will be on display from 25 May to 5 June at Kåkenhus.
