Welcome to this crossover event between Stripe and DataLab, where the Megabytes vs Megawatts research project team present their visual and multimodal research on data infrastructures. In this show-and-tell style session we will introduce and discuss four very different kinds of outputs: an exhibition exploring the cloud’s materialities and landscapes, an interactive narrative game concerning a data centre’s energy negotiations, pop-up books visualising data’s energy landscapes, and a collage re-imagining the cloud through the figure of a jellyfish.
