This project was a collaborative research project with the cement company of Cemex focusing on how industrial ecology tools and measures could improve climate performance in cement production. Many of the results were generally applicable but the main focus in the project was on German conditions. Important results from the project include assessments of the potential of by-product addition from other sectors and a structured overview of improvement measures for improving climate performance in cement production.

The project analyses how the substitution of limestone with various by-products from other sectors could improve the environmental performance of cement production.
