Measuring pasture growth is crucial for predictability in pasture-based production. Traditional pasture meters can be complemented by apps like Aimer Farming, which uses mobile imagery and AI, or Pasture.io, which relies on satellite data to track growth.

Measuring pasture growth and being able to predict how much pasture is available for production is crucial for pasture-based production if you want predictability in your business. Grass height can be measured with a manual electronic grazing meter. There are different models of these classic pasture readers. Some can store data in the tool itself and then be downloaded to a computer via USB or they are connected to an app where data collection and reading takes place.

Aimer Farming offers a pasture planning app that measures pasture growth using mobile phone photos and AI. It also uses weather data to produce forecasts and pasture growth.

Pasture.io offers a similar app but works with pasture measurements using data from satellites, instead of manual measurements with your phone or pasture meter.
