With a pig counter, pig farmers can count pigs of all sizes and colours with a very high accuracy (99,8-99,9%). This is done with a camera that is mounted where pigs pass during a move, for example in a corridor.

Description of the system

The system takes into account pigs changing direction and running back and people moving together with the pigs are not counted. The result of the pig count is available in real time on the hardware or on other devices (smartphone, tablet, computer). The hardware can either be permanently installed or moved between different locations.

Counting pigs on the move can be difficult. The advantages of a pig counter are that the security of counting is high and the system handles pigs that change direction. With an automatically calculated result, disagreements between e.g. seller and buyer can be avoided. The video evidence can be shared with customers. This way, everyone involved knows that they are paying or being paid for the correct number of animals. Automatic counting also saves time, eliminating the need for check counts and allowing pig farmers to focus on other tasks.
