Linköping University´s EU Office

As a founding member of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU), LiU is committed to shaping Europe’s future through collaboration and innovation.

In August 2025, Linköping University opened an EU Office in Brussels to increase its presence and influence within European research and innovation.

The Linköping University EU Office connects the university with European institutions, networks, and partners — amplifying LiU’s voice in EU research, fostering transnational cooperation, and supporting societal transformation.

The EU office is led by Lisa Pohl and is located in Nordic House in Brussels.

We have an important role as a driving force for innovation and sustainable development in Europe. At a time of increasing geopolitical tensions, we also want to take a more active part in European cooperation.

LiU opens office in Brussels

Linköping University has opened an EU Office in Brussels to increase its presence and influence within European research and innovation. The office will be led by Lisa Pohl, who most recently comes from the European Commission.

Roadmap to strengthen LiU:s role in Europe

LiU is increasing international presence by launching the Roadmap to Europe initiative. The aim is to deepen the university’s collaboration within Europe so as to strengthen education, research and collaboration with various stakeholders.

ECIU Network

The European Consortium of Innovative Universities, ECIU, was founded in 1997 and is the leading international consortium of research-intensive universities, where LiU is a member.
