Description
Web-based system for heat and health monitoring in dairy and beef herds. Activity meter that combines monitoring functions and management tools in a single system. Information from fertility, feeding, housing environment and milking is collected and can be evaluated through the system to improve production on the farm. The system is used for loose-housed cows and heifers and can be connected to different types of management programmes. The system is divided into three levels for reproduction, health monitoring and positioning. Transponders are attached to the collars of the animals and activity is collected in the system. For example, rutting, eating times, heat stress and movement patterns of the animals are recorded and data is collected for further evaluation by the keeper or counsellor.
Data transmission is in real time and has a range to cover a larger barn. The system can be connected and used in different stables and is designed to withstand indoor environments. The purpose of the system is production monitoring and the possibility of production improvements on the farm.
The system is purchased either directly or through a subscription cost and supplementation with several transponders is possible.
