Helen Dannetun’s contract as vice-chancellor will expire on 30 June 2017. She has made it clear that she is willing to continue as vice-chancellor for a further three years.
The University Board is highly impressed with Helen Dannetun’s achievements during her tenure. Since her appointment in 2011 she has taken initiatives to improve the training and the educational expertise of the teaching staff, and to ensure the long-term suitability of Campus Valla for the demands of the future–by way of the Studenthus Valla project. During her tenure as vice-chancellor the university has improved its position in several international ranking lists.
A subcommittee of the University Board has garnered the opinions of the teaching staff, employees and students at the university, and heads of department and deans. Helen Dannetun’s candidacy is strongly supported within the university.
Against this background, the University Board will unanimously recommend to the government that Helen Dannetun’s contract as vice-chancellor be extended until 30 June 2020.
