Spring 2026, One-quarter-time, Distance

The course is aimed at students interested in learning about professional communication more generally and who want to improve their written English for professional purposes.

The course focuses on developing effective communication in written English with native and non-native speakers in real-world scenarios. Students will develop their skills in writing with tasks and activities that simulate the correspondence, reports, and publications found in various industries and professions. The course is instructed at the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The course is open for those who have completed upper secondary studies comprising at least step 6 or have language skills equivalent to B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference.

The aim of the course is two-fold: 1) to provide students insight into how language is adapted for specific purposes, and 2) to help students improve their written communication in English for professional and academic purposes. The course is given as a distance course without physical meetings. Instruction consists of lectures, seminars, group work, and individual guidance in the form of feedback on assignments.
