Psychology 5 is for students who want to further deepen their knowledge of psychological research, and who want to obtain a master's degree in psychology. The structure of this course can be partly individualized, and the course consists of advanced seminars in developmental, cognitive, social and clinical psychology, and a larger individual thesis completed under the supervision of a researcher with special expertise in the thesis topic. Students are strongly recommended to write their master’s theses within existing research projects at the department.
Research in psychology at LiU is currently mainly focused on clinical psychology, decision-making psychology, cognitive psychology, experimental social psychology, group psychology, developmental psychology, sports psychology and gender psychology, and conducted using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
