One of the challenges of our time is the rapid changes our societies face as the climate changes and the Earth's resources must suffice for both humans and animals. In this course, you will learn about how teaching for environmental and sustainability education can take place outdoors, in the school's local environment. We use natural environments as well as urban environments for teaching and learning, and visit actors and organizations in society. Sustainable development is an interdisciplinary field, and in the course, students will try different types of thematic outdoor teaching. The course addresses various aspects of the pedagogy and didactics that environmental and sustainability education is based on. Students will also learn more about concepts such as planetary boundaries and ecosystem services. The course concludes with students, in small groups, planning and presenting their own teaching activity for sustainability.
