Cryptology, 6 credits

Autumn 2024, One-third-time, Distance

Closed for late application

This foundational course in cryptotechnology offers a comprehensive understanding of the types of algorithms available and the requirements placed upon them. Certain algorithms receive detailed examination, while others are reviewed more broadly. The course commences with historical ciphers and subsequently delves into both symmetric and asymmetric ciphers, key transfer methods, including quantum cryptography. Furthermore, it introduces post-quantum cryptography, designed to withstand future quantum computer threats.

The course is delivered entirely online, with no on-campus meetings.
