My research focuses on developing advanced functional materials through molecular design and nanotechnology for biomedical imagin, cancer therapy and environmental monitoring.

Research

Chemistry and nanotechnology offer powerful tools for solving biomedical and environmental challenges. My research focuses on developing advanced fluorescent molecules and functional nanomaterials to address key issues in healthcare and sustainability.

Biomedical imaging and sensing

Design and development of fluorescent probes and nanomaterials for high-resolution visualization of molecular interactions and biological processes (e.g., intracellular pH, autophagy, tumor progression).

Environmental monitoring and pollution control

Creation of fluorescence-based sensing systems and functional materials for rapid, selective detection of environmental pollutants and innovative strategies for pollution mitigation.

Dr. Jiwen Hu is an Assistant Professor in the Molecular Surface Physics and Nanoscience (MOLYT) Division at Linköping University.

She previously was a principal research engineer at Linköping University (2020–2023) and held postdoctoral fellowships at Linköping University (2017–2019) and Shanghai University (2016–2022).

She received her Ph.D. from Tongji University in 2016. She was a vising Ph.D. student at Linköping University in 2015.
