Each year, we celebrate academic achievements through ceremonial events. Newly appointed professors are honoured during the Academic Celebration in the autumn.
The inauguration of professors will take place on 9 October and, this year, the celebration will be held in Norrköping. A total of 23 new professors will be inaugurated. The ceremony will also include the conferment of honorary doctors and the presentation of several awards and distinctions: the Ingemar Ingemarsson Teaching Prize, the Uncle Adam Award for Outstanding Research at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Linköping University's Medal of Merit, and the Alumnus/Alumna of the Year Award.

17:00: The ceremony begins with the academic procession.
Approximately 18:45: The ceremony concludes.
Reception followed by a banquet in Värmekyrkan for invited guests.
The ceremony opens with an academic procession to the stage and lasts approximately two hours.
The festivities begin on Thursday, 8 October, with the panel discussion "Dining with Honorary Doctors" at the Östergötland Museum in Linköping. Professor Josefina Syssner of Linköping University will host the imaginary dinner and introduce topics and questions for discussion. As is customary, the honorary doctors will also each give an honorary doctor's lecture.
All events are open to the public. A ticket is required for the panel discussion, while all other events are free of charge.
