Ahmed Elserafy spends his days researching skin and stem cells and how they can be used in the treatment of burns and wounds that do not heal properly. Over the last few years, he has also written a popular science book – in Arabic.

Chronic wounds can heal faster by using a transplantation method where skin cells in a liquid are placed over the wound in a small chamber. This method was developed by the University Hospital in Linköping, in collaboration with LiU.
