The semiconductor shortage is becoming increasingly urgent. Linköping University conducts materials research in close collaboration with industry, with a view to increasing the semiconductor production rate in Europe.

Researchers can use the most intense microscope in the world, the MAX IV synchrotron facility in Lund, to see how atoms bind to each other. Scientists from LiU were first to use the new beamline, investigating new materials with exciting properties.
