Book launch: Crossings – Creative Ecologies of Cruising

A book launch for "Crossings – Creative Ecologies of Cruising" by João Florêncio and Liz Rosenfeld will be held at Page 28 in Malmö on 16 May at 18:00. The book will be released on 15 April, and the event will include readings from the book and discussions.

About the book

Crossings – Creative Ecologies of Cruising is a thought-provoking exploration of queer sex cultures, examining cruising as both a bodily practice and a way of knowing. Blending scholarship with avant-garde experimentation, the book emerges as a hybrid of critical manifesto and erotic memoir. Through a creative dialogue between a queer artist and a queer academic, it invites readers to inhabit the liminal spaces of desire, intimacy, and world-making.

About João Florêncio

João Florêncio is a professor at Linköping University and a queer cultural scholar focusing on embodiment and sexuality. His research examines the interplay between the body, media technologies, and sex in contemporary culture. João Florêncio's work draws on queer studies, media studies, visual culture, and cultural studies to investigate how the queer body has been produced, policed, and contested as a political site of creative and affective sexual world-making in modern and contemporary sex cultures.
