Welcome to an open webinar featuring the final presentation of the research project "New ways to enable reliable validation of greenhouse gas models and assessments". This research project has been funded by Formas.
The lack of local greenhouse gas flux measurements makes local validation of flux models difficult and prevents local knowledge about where and when greenhouse gas fluxes occur and how to mitigate them. It is too difficult and expensive the measure greenhouse gas fluxes. Another challenge towards better models is the need for higher-resolution land cover assessments, in which the land cover classes are defined based on their roles in greenhouse gas emissions.
This project has addressed these issues evaluating new measurement methods based on e.g. hyperspectral imaging and low-cost sensors and by developing ways to map different types of wetlands at high-resolution from satellite information.
Some presentations may be in Swedish, but slides will be in English and we will do our best to mix Swedish and English as desired by the audience.
Please join to hear more about the project results!
