Credit Transfer

When?

Upon arrival in Linköping (at the beginning of your exchange period). Double Degree students are required to apply for credit transfer for previous university studies as soon as they arrive in Linköping.

Programme-specific information

Audencia Double Degree

  • Audencia students must apply for credit transfer for the first two years of university studies completed at Audencia.

EuMIGs Double Degree

  • EuMIGs students must apply for credit transfer for the first year of the master’s programme completed at their respective home universities.

Atlantis Double/Multiple Degree

  • INSEEC and DePaul students must apply for credit transfer for two years of university studies completed at their home university.
  • All Atlantis students must also apply for credit transfer for studies completed at INSEEC Lyon during the first Atlantis semester.

Degree Application

When?

At the end of the spring semester (at the end of your exchange in Linköping). The degree application to Linköping University must be submitted as soon as all grades have been reported, including the grade for the thesis. Please ensure that all results are visible in the Student Portal before submitting your application.

Programme-specific information

Audencia Double Degree

Students must have completed at LiU:

  • 30 ECTS credits during the autumn semester
  • 15 ECTS credits during the spring semester
  • Bachelor’s thesis (15 ECTS)

EuMIGs Double Degree

Students must have completed at LiU:

  • 30 ECTS credits of courses during the autumn semester
  • Master’s thesis (30 ECTS) during the spring semester

Atlantis Double/Multiple Degree

INSEEC and DePaul students must have completed at LiU:

  • 15 ECTS credits of courses
  • 15 ECTS credits from the bachelor’s thesis

Please note: INSEEC and LiU Atlantis students are required to send their degree certificate from Linköping to DePaul University as part of the admission process.

We strongly recommend submitting your degree application as soon as all grades are available, in order to speed up the degree issuance process.

Important Instructions for the Degree Application

When submitting the online application form please take into account:

  • You do not need to attach any supporting documentation to the Degree Administration Office, as you have already applied for credit transfer at the beginning of the semester.
  • In the section “Message to administrator”, please clearly state:
    - Atlantis Double Degree, Audencia Double Degree, or EuMIGs Double Degree. This helps the administrator identify your application more easily.
  • Your application will be considered complete only when:
    - All grades have been reported in the Student Portal, and
    - All requirements of your Double Degree programme have been fulfilled.

Atlantis students – special note

  • Select the degree: “Bachelor of Arts / Social Sciences / Science (Faculty of Arts and Sciences) – 180.0 hp”
  • Fill in the Main field of study (Business Administration or Economics; most students major in Business Administration). If your major is Economics rather than Business Administration, please specify this clearly in your application.
  • Students who have completed a total of 180 ECTS credits, including:
    - at least 90 ECTS in Business
    - 30 ECTS in Economics
    - 15 ECTS in Statistics
    - 15 ECTS in Law

may also apply for an Ekonomie kandidatexamen / Bachelor of Science with a major in Business Administration.

Degree Titles and Credit Requirements

Audencia Double Degree

  • The degree comprises 180 ECTS credits, of which at least 90 ECTS are in Business.
  • Degree title: Bachelor of Science with a major in Business Administration

Atlantis Double/Multiple Degree

  • The degree comprises 180 ECTS credits, of which at least 90 ECTS are in Business.
  • Degree title: Bachelor of Science with a major in Business Administration (or Economics)

EuMIGs Double Degree

  • The degree comprises 120 ECTS credits, of which at least 60 ECTS are in Ethnic and Migration Studies.
  • Degree title: Degree of Master of Arts (120 ECTS) with a major in Ethnic and Migration Studies

Degree Certificate and Diploma Supplement

  • The Degree Administration Office at Linköping University normally takes 6–8 weeks to process and issue the degree certificate.
  • Processing times are longer during June, July, August and December.
  • Delays can be avoided by submitting complete and correct information.
  • The degree certificate will be issued in both Swedish and English and is digital only.

  • In accordance with a government decision, Linköping University automatically and free of charge issues a Diploma Supplement together with the degree certificate. The supplement:
    - Is issued in English
    - Describes the programme and its academic level
    - Follows the model developed by the European Commission, the Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES
    - Is intended to facilitate recognition of the degree for employment or further studies in Sweden and abroad
