Outdoor Learning in Theory and Practie, 15 credits

In this course, we discuss how different theoretical and practical traditions and frame works have contributed to the development of the field outdoor learning. Historical background and cultural differences are discussed although the focus in on the Scandinavian ‘uteskola’. The foundation for learning is active participation in outdoor settings as well as oral and written reflection. The participants will develop their skills in planning and performing outdoor teaching. The course is to a large extent field based where different environments are the arena for teaching and learning.
