Before working at Linköping University, Dr. Lizhou Fan was a postdoctoral fellow at the Sargent group, University of Toronto, with a International postdoc grant from Swedish Research Council. He received his PhD degree from KTH Royal Institute of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Licheng Sun in 2020.
Research
Dr. Lizhou Fan's research focuses on electrocatalysis for sustainable fuel and chemical production. His group aims to understand and control electrocatalytic processes, from the molecular and interfacial level to the electrolyzer-system level, with a particular focus on improving activity, selectivity, stability and energy efficiency.
The research combines operando spectroscopy, catalytic mechanistic investigation, atomic- and molecular-level catalyst design, and optimization of key electrolyzer components to advance reactions such as CO2 conversion, hydrogen production and other sustainable chemical transformations.
The reserach work results in publication in high-impact journals, such as Nature Synthesis, Nature Communications, Journal of American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie, Advanced Materials, and others. See the full list of publications at Google Scholar and orcid.org/0000-0002-9398-4875
