Materials design (MDESIGN)

Research within the Materials Design Division combines fundamental physics with application-oriented studies, encompassing theoretical modeling, material synthesis, characterization, and testing of one- two- and three-dimensional materials.

The Division places particular emphasis on materials that contribute to sustainable technologies, with applications in areas such as energy storage and energy conversion.
The team currently consists of approximately 30 researchers, working in an interdisciplinary manner to identify effective strategies for the design of new materials.
