Satenik Sargsyan

PhD student

PhD candidate in Technology and Social Change at the Department of Thematic Studies.

Sati (Satenik) Sargsyans research examines media materialities and infrastructures, digitalization of public administration from its margins, through a lens of queer and feminist theory, with particular attention to security, temporalities and invisibilized labor.

Sargsyan combines academic research with over a decade of experience in civil society leadership and project management and several years of journalism work. Her earlier research examined early frictions in data centers and indigenous sovereignty in Sápmi/northern Sweden. Satenik aims to bridge digital cultures, governance and justice, and has extensive experience designing and facilitating practice-oriented and, more recently, academic learning environments.
