My research focuses on how hydrocortisone affects infants born extremely preterm. The aim is to better understand which children benefit most from the treatment and how it can be used as safely and effectively as possible.
I am a physician and have been a registered PhD-student since 2025. My background as a neonatal intensive care nurse sparked an early interest in caring for the most vulnerable infants, and during my medical training I began exploring how hydrocortisone influences the extremely preterm infant. Clinical studies have shown promising results, but much remains to be understood — particularly the long‑term effects, including how the treatment impacts brain development. These are the questions that drive my research and that I hope to contribute to during my PhD-studies.
