Research in construction logistics is motivated by the overall objective of the industry to build more efficiently with regard to time, cost and quality. It should be possible to reduce total construction costs by 25% compared with today's general levels. To achieve this, research is focused on three different but inter-related areas within construction logistics: the supply chain as far as the construction site, logistics at the construction site, and the interface between the two.
