The BioPart project took part in the 3rd Biomethane Forum in Warsaw, organised by the Polish Biomethane Organisation (PBO), one of the key polish events in the biomethane sector where the future of green energy in Poland and world trend was discussed. The event gathered policymakers, industry, and academia to discuss the rapid development of the Polish biomethane sector and the role of cross-border cooperation in accelerating this transition.
Representing Linköping University and the BioPart project, Konrad Smolarczyk presented a poster entitled “Biogas Development in Sweden, Poland, and Ukraine: Comparative Insights from the BioPart Project.” The Swedish biogas model — particularly the integration of waste management, transport, and energy systems — attracted significant interest from participants, many of whom highlighted its relevance for Poland’s emerging biomethane market and Ukraine’s decentralised energy ambitions.
The presentation showcased how each country’s policy frameworks, infrastructure, and feedstock bases shape system maturity, and how stable long-term policies in Sweden have enabled multifunctional biogas solutions. The Forum provided an excellent opportunity to share BioPart findings, engage with sector stakeholders, and deepen the dialogue between Swedish, Polish, and Ukrainian partners on building sustainable and resilient biogas systems. BioPart team share and disseminate project results with audience by spreading brochures and factsheets.
It was a unique opportunity to exchange experiences, learn about the latest technological and regulatory developments, and strengthen collaboration between stakeholders working toward a low-carbon energy future in Poland and Europe.
