Just?Tech

pulled strings

Just?Tech is a think tank dedicated to exploring how we can engage gender equality, equity and social justice concerns in entangled engagements with AI tech. Just?Tech is both interested in how tech can be more just, but also engaged in combating the idea of tech exceptionalism. Our stance is that it is not ok to just develop tech and leave concern about its social justice aspects to others.

The think tank’s goal is to amplify lessons learned about gender and diversity within tech, accelerating the development of AI for good, while also collecting and spreading knowledge about the state-of-the-art. Just?Tech shares knowledge about best practices to a wide community of AI developers and users, and spreads the lessons learned in Sweden on gender equality and technology to an international audience.

Our goal is to make the Just?Tech think tank an important Nordic, European and trans-Atlantic voice in international discussions about how AI can be developed and used to increase gender equality, diversity and inclusion. With a focus on AI and a target audience far beyond the academy, the think tank will be a resource for conversations between tech developers, social organisations, societal actors, policy makers, funders, and academic critical theory.

White Paper Series

The Just Tech? White Paper series will produce an annual overview of how AI is being engaged for good. Looking at local and international examples of how government bodies, NGOs and commercial interests use AI, we will select successful examples and extract lessons learned about how AI can be an important tool in the social justice toolbox.
