This project will extend an ongoing mHealth smoking cessation intervention for patients prior to surgery (NEXit Operation) with additional behavioral support.
The project aims to offer support with respect to smoking cessation, reducing alcohol consumption, increasing physical activity and when appropriate weight-loss/gain.
Based on panel evaluations, usability tests and focus groups with patients and health-care professionals, the intervention will be tailored to suit the target population.
A randomized controlled trial will be carried out and the control setting will be treatment as usual at each surgery department.
